Patty Goff: Co-editor-in-chief & co-publisher
Patty specializes in genealogy and Onarga history, often compiling columns from Onarga's old
newspaper, The Onarga Leader-Review, for reprint. Additionally, Patty handles layout and design by
herself unless an intern is available to help. In her spare time, she enjoys John Jakes and Greg Matthews
novels and listening to barbershop music (especially Second String). Email Patricia at the LTL email.
Art Jones: Co-editor-in-chief & co-publisher
Writing is Art's forte, and he does it "good." Blending a sense of country "sophistication" with a
"damn-your-proper-grammar" attitude, Art's writing is best described as simply hilarious. With an
emphasis on creative writing and courses at Lincoln College, University of Tampa and the University of
Maryland, Art was a Board of Governor's Degree recipient from Western Illinois University. You
can email Art any time, but he's a self described night owl.
Tina Schoolman: Marketing Representative
"I was born in California, raised in Watseka and married into Gilman." That is how Tina Schoolman
worded it when I asked for some brief biographical information. The daughter of Maxine Holliman, Tina
has the responsibility of marketing the Lone Tree Leader and developing new territories. Now residing in
Crescent City, Tina is the mother of Aaron an aspiring rodeo rider and Alec, who was the Prince of the
2000 Old Boys and Old Girls Reunion. Email Tina.
Katie Hylbert: Administrative Assistant
Katie assists the LTL in all administrative office functions including ad design, general typing assignments
and marketing. And, since she once told me, "I really have a passion for writing--I really like to write,"
we've given her that opportunity too.
Katie, who will be remembered by some as Katie Miller, is a 2002 graduate of Iroquois West High School
where she participated in 4-H, volleyball and softball. Her parents are Michael and Anne Miller of Gilman.
According to Katie, she pretty much grew up on her grandparents Ron and Kris Ritzma's farm west of
Gilman. Another grandparent, Janet Miller, was a long time cafeteria worker at IWHS.
Katie is also employed at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion and continuing her studies at Parkland College in
Champaign while pursuing a degree toward becoming a registered nurse.
While two jobs and a college curriculum would be enough for most, Katie also tends to the needs of her
husband, Jeremiah, and their soon to be three-year-old son, Dylan.
